Decent service, quick setup

I opened a Multi-currency Business Account and it was pretty straightforward, took about 3 days to get everything verified. The interface for managing payouts is clear. One small thing, linking to QuickBooks was a bit fiddly, not as seamless as I hoped, but I got it working eventually. Customer service was responsive when I had a question about SWIFT transfers.

Good value on multi-currency

I was setting up a new business account and needed something that handled multiple currencies without breaking the bank. The zero international transaction fees offer was a big draw. It felt like a good deal overall and definitely worth the switch for my cross-border payments.

Pretty good for business stuff

Needed a better way to do international payments for my small business. Signed up for the Multi-currency Business Account. It was pretty easy to get going. The rates seemed fair for foreign exchange, and my payments went through without a hitch. Much better than my old bank, honestly. Makes things less of a headache.

Smooth experience, minor hiccups

I signed up for a Global Account and also got some Virtual Cards for online spending. The onboarding process was mostly smooth, though verifying my business documents took a little longer than estimated. Delivery of the physical Corporate Cards to my office in New York took 5 business days, which was fine. The expense management software integrated well with Xero, making reconciliation easier. I had a quick question about recurring payments and support got back to me within a few hours. Overall, the system for managing spend and foreign exchange has been really useful for our international operations. The AI insights feature is a nice bonus too.

Are there any current signup bonuses for new US businesses? Saw something about a referral link but wasn't sure if that was still a thing or just for specific regions.

M Marcus Whitfield 1 month ago
Yep, definitely still a thing for US businesses. Most of the time it's a referral link that gives you some cashback or fee-free transfers for your first bit of activity. I got $100 after my first deposit.

They pretty much always have some kind of new user offer, usually linked to a referral or partner page. You don't use a code, it just applies after you meet their minimums, like a first transfer or deposit.

what's the deal with their 'Yield' product? Is it basically a high-yield savings for business cash, or something more complicated?

D David 3 weeks ago
It's kinda like that, yeah. You can put idle funds into it to earn some interest. It's not a bank account though, more like an investment product within their platform to help your cash work for you.

It's designed to let you earn returns on your business funds that would otherwise just be sitting there. Not super complicated to set up, but definitely read the terms so you know how it all works with liquidity and stuff.

Thinking of switching from Wise. Anyone use Airwallex for their business transfers? How do the fees compare, especially for international stuff?

N Noor Doyle 1 month ago
Yeah, I use Airwallex and used Wise before. For foreign exchange, the fees on Airwallex are usually a tiny bit better, especially for bigger amounts. They have pretty competitive rates.

I think Airwallex can be really good for high volume stuff, and they often have those zero international transaction fee deals when you sign up which helps offset things for a while. Wise is solid, but AW has more features beyond just transfers.

Can I integrate this with Shopify? I'm looking for a way to streamline my online store payments and reporting.

S Shane R. 1 month ago
Yeah, they integrate with Shopify. That's one of the reasons I went with them actually. Helps a lot with managing different currency transactions directly.

It does, definitely. I use it for my store and it links up pretty seamlessly. Makes reconciliation way easier than before.

hey, trying to figure out how long it takes to actually get a global account set up. Is it super quick or do I need to plan ahead a few weeks?

O Omar E. 1 month ago
From my experience, it's pretty fast. Once you've got all your documents ready, I think it only took a few days for them to verify everything and get the account open.

Not weeks for sure. I recall it being pretty straightforward, maybe a week tops if there were any back and forth for verification docs. Much faster than traditional banks.

Are Airwallex corporate cards actual physical cards too, or just virtual ones? Need to issue some to my team for expenses.

A Anna 1 month ago
They have both! You can issue virtual cards instantly for online stuff, and then order physical cards for your team as well if they need to pay in-person. I've got both for my team.

M Mike 1 month ago
Yeah, physical cards are an option. You just request them through the platform after you set up the virtual ones. Takes a few days to arrive of course.
